A Little Faith
A Little Faith| 5"x7" | oil on hardboard
This painting started out as another in my short series of birds. Prior to this you've seen a cardinal and a bluejay. It changed direction a bit when I was inspired by artist David Arms, who does imagery similar to this.
I hope you like it.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. - Hebrews 11:1

This is so beautiful, and I just love the tie into such a wonderful Bible verse. Really wonderful painting and blog post.
ReplyDeleteVERY nicely done!!! Just popped over from r's blog because I liked the image. I wasn't disappointed!!
ReplyDeleteI love this little painting, and the way you have added the verse. I guess all birds must have a lot of faith, they are constantly in need of food and shelter from the weather and they always find both.
ReplyDeleteSo many good things going on here... the complementary colors sing, the feathers so believably rendered, and echoed in the background brush strokes. Great shadows on the slip of paper, nicely designed... One of your best yet, John!
ReplyDeletebeautiful, John. I love the grip on the table edge, and the gorgeous colors.
